Utilizing a modified solvent‑extraction method, this instrument rapidly separates one or multiple target substances from solid or semi‑solid matrices. It determines soluble organic compounds (fats, surfactants, pesticides, etc.) in feed, food, detergents, rubber, plastics, polymers, pharmaceuticals, petrochemical products, fibre goods, soil, sludge and other samples. Typical applications include:

  • - Fast and safe fat determination in food, feed, grains and seeds
  • - Oil‑fat extraction from wastewater and sludge
  • - Extraction of plasticizers from plastics, rosin from paper & paperboard, grease from leather
  • - Extraction of semi‑volatile organic compounds, insecticides and herbicides from soil
  • - Sample digestion and pre‑treatment of solid samples for GC and HPLC analysis

Innovative batch‑processing tool cuts down operating time. Unique sealing system delivers solvent recovery rate above 90%. Distinct solvent‑removal control function together with built‑in solvent recovery tank enhances operational flexibility. Explosion‑proof design with ATEX marking guarantees operator safety. Maximum operating temperature reaches 300 °C to accommodate a broad range of solvents and special application requirements.

Instrument Features

Fully‑Automated Control & High‑Efficiency Extraction

Once samples are loaded, the complete extraction workflow runs fully automatically without continuous operator attendance. The auto‑power‑off function supports overnight unattended operation.

Programmable automatic sequences execute sample maceration, sample lifting, sample rinsing, solvent recovery and cooling pre‑drying. Upon completion of extraction, the heating plate moves away from solvent cups to enable rapid sample cooling.

Based on improved Soxhlet extraction technology, it delivers superior precision and accuracy while running several‑fold faster than conventional Soxhlet extraction.

A practical sample carrier tray enables sample inspection before and after extraction. It holds and manages up to six samples simultaneously, saving time and minimising human error. The sample tray can be used inside the balance room or placed into the instrument together with solvent cups.

Process up to six samples in one batch, achieving a throughput of as many as 42 samples per day.

High‑Efficiency Sealing System & Cost‑Saving Performance

Extensive engineering work has been invested to develop a closed system featuring efficient heating and high solvent recovery, delivering a highly cost‑effective analytical solution.

  • - Unique dual‑sealing system: solvent cups are first compressed and sealed by manual pull rods; the heating plate then rises automatically and completes rotary sealing.
  • - Spring‑loaded sealing for all six positions to ensure flexible, tight system closure.
  • - All solvent‑wetted components are made of PTFE.
  • - Specially engineered sealing gaskets.
  • - Solvent recovery rate exceeding 90 % reduces operational costs.
  • - High‑efficiency condensation system cuts tap‑water consumption (less than 1 L/min at 20 °C).

Flexible Solvent Dosing & Solvent Control System

Multiple extraction application protocols can be stored and easily reprogrammed on demand. A solvent‑control unit and comprehensive optional accessories are available to maximise instrument versatility.

  • - Fast, flexible closed‑chamber solvent dosing. Solvent can be added either before extraction starts or mid‑run, preventing operator exposure to hazardous solvent vapours.
  • - Independent solvent recovery tank located at the lower‑right section of the front panel for simple installation and removal.
  • - Distinct solvent‑removal control system adjusts solvent volume across different extraction steps. It maintains consistent solvent volume - during rinsing and drying. Users may program valve opening frequency and time intervals.
  • - Broad selection of solvent cups to match diverse application requirements. Both glass and aluminium cups are offered in two sizes. Small‑volume cups improve solvent efficiency; aluminium cups enable more vigorous boiling and maceration.

Explosion‑Proof Design & Operator Safety

Multiple safety measures are implemented to protect operators. Solvent addition takes place inside the instrument to avoid human exposure; solvent transfer is facilitated via the easy‑to‑remove recovery tank.

  • - Explosion‑proof construction with ATEX marking; all solvent‑contact valves are ATEX‑rated.
  • - IP65 ingress‑protection rating, complying strictly with US and EU standards for dust‑proofing and liquid‑corrosion resistance.
  • - Main electronic components are housed inside a sealed stainless‑steel enclosure to prevent solvent ingress and potential spark hazards.
  • - Safety protective doors cover solvent cups during extraction. Built‑in sensors halt all extraction processes if doors are opened.
  • - Sample residues and solvent cups are removed together to avoid solvent dripping from extraction thimbles onto heating plates.
  • - Over‑temperature protection threshold is automatically set 30 °C above user‑programmed temperature. Heating power cuts off automatically upon excessive overheating. Custom over‑temperature thresholds for different solvents maximise solvent safety.
  • - Temperature monitoring is performed via two independent redundant safety systems.
  • - Maximum instrument temperature reaches 300 °C. Heating activation and valve closure can be individually enabled or disabled for each position. Self‑regulating heating plates ensure uniform surface temperature for optimal heat transfer, supporting a wide portfolio of solvents including high‑boiling‑point solvents such as petroleum ether.
  • - Integrated internal fume hood prevents accumulation of solvent vapours and improves safety.

Compact Integrated Design for Laboratory Space‑Saving

The compact footprint allows easy laboratory deployment.

  • - All‑in‑one design with on‑board built‑in control system.
  • - No external PC or peripheral hardware required. The instrument runs full maceration cycles independently without external compressed‑air or nitrogen‑blanketing supplies
  • - Solvent recovery tank is integrated within the instrument and detachable for convenient solvent draining.
  •

Wide‑Range Optional Accessories

  • - Gaskets of different materials for compatibility with various solvents: Viton fluoro‑rubber gaskets and Butyl rubber gaskets.
  • - Extraction thimbles and holders of varying lengths and diameters for different sample loads: Ø25×60 mm, Ø25×75 mm, Ø25×80 mm, Ø25×100 mm, Ø33×80 mm, Ø33×94 mm, Ø33×100 mm.
  • - Solvent cups of varied volumes for different solvent dosages: Ø48 mm / 150 mL, Ø54 mm / 230 mL.
    • -230 mL for large‑sample‑volume (LSV) determinations; 150 mL cups reduce solvent consumption and operating costs.
  • - Two solvent‑cup material options for varied experimental needs: glass cups and aluminium cups.
    • - Aluminium cups: superior thermal conductivity, ideal for low‑temperature extraction applications; higher mechanical durability compared with glass cups.
    • - Glass cups: borosilicate glass enables real‑time visual observation throughout extraction.

The instrument complies with AOAC, EPA, DIN and ISO standards.
