Advanced Filter‑Bag Technology for Unattended Operation
Application Scope Crude‑fibre analysis plays a vital role in feed‑and‑food testing. The FB‑300CN fully‑automatic crude‑fibre analyzer is designed for fibre content determination in samples. It measures crude fibre (CF), neutral‑detergent fibre (NDF), acid‑detergent fibre (ADF), acid‑detergent lignin (ADL), cellulose, hemicellulose and other indicators in feed, food, grains, plant tissues and forage grass. It processes up to 27 samples per batch and greatly boosts testing throughput.
Its precision‑optimized design integrates digestion, filtration, rinsing and waste‑liquid discharge in one unit. It automatically completes acid‑alkali reagent dosing, sample digestion, agitation and rinsing as well as waste discharge. Equipped with built‑in reagent pumps and control valves together with precise temperature regulation, the instrument fully complies with AOAC and national GB standards. It is widely deployed in livestock & poultry feed, grain‑oil food, pet‑feed, agriculture, forestry and grass‑industry laboratories.
Principle & Performance The FB‑300CN adopts filter‑bag technology for fibre‑content analysis. Pre‑weighed samples are sealed inside filter bags and digested with heated chemical reagents. Soluble cell contents are removed while fibre fractions are retained. Reagents freely permeate filter bags for repeated sample rinsing. Continuous vertical movement of filter bags keeps samples well‑agitated and ensures homogeneous digestion. Finally, samples are defatted with acetone, dried, and fibre content is calculated via gravimetric method.
Full workflow automation and standardisation eliminate major sources of analytical bias and improve accuracy and repeatability. The filter‑bag workflow removes tedious filtration steps, shortening analysis cycles and enhancing throughput.
Traditional crucible‑based methods suffer from multiple drawbacks: cumbersome vacuum filtration, frequent crucible frit blockage caused by sample caking, repeated manual air‑back‑blow and vacuum operations. Residual sample material easily adheres to beaker and tube walls and demands extensive rinsing for full sample recovery. Vigorous boiling may generate heavy foam; even with octanol addition, sample residues can remain on vessel walls, causing inconsistent digestion and skewed results. Poor crucible sealing may trigger liquid leakage and total test failure.
This instrument features four external reagent ports for acid reagent, alkali reagent, neutral‑detergent solution and acid‑detergent solution. Built‑in dosing pumps rapidly draw analytical reagents. Up to four reagent containers can be connected simultaneously to support high‑volume sample batches. An amylase reagent cup enables automatic amylase dosing into the digestion vessel according to programmed parameters during NDF testing.
