DESCRIPTION

The Caleva Screen Extruder 20 designed for the development of experimental formulations of pellets in a range of industries.A centrally driven, vertically orientated, rotating roller assembly located on the inside of the extrusion screen pushes the material to be extruded through the holes in the screen thereby producing an extrudate.

EXTRUDER CAPACITY  

Extrusion is a continuous process, however for formulation development the size

of a typical batch can run from 100 grams up to a few kilograms.

The screen used in the Model 20 Extruder is the same as thescreen usedin Caleva’s Model 35 Extruder whichis a productionmachine. This feature makesscale up verysimple.

Cabinet: Brushed 304 stainless steel

Product contact parts: 316 stainless steel, acrylic and food-grade approved plastics

SUPPLIED STANDARD WITH

Extrusion Screen: Full height, 150 mm inside diameter, 65 mm height, 1 mm thick and with 1.0 mm diameter (or as specified) holes, 316 stainless steel.

Screen hole sizes are available range from 0.5mm diameter up to 2.0 mm diameter.

Extruder feed tray   

Transparent safety/product cover allowing visual inspection during extrusion.

Discharge of extruded product falls into a stainless steel collection tray.

Electrical Control

AC geared motor driven by an inverter speed control device with LED display.

Speed is infinitely variable and controlled by a dial mounted on the front panel.
